The Total Package

We recently had some friends visit for the weekend from Erie, PA. We all attended the same student ward in Salt Lake before we were married, and somehow ended up going to school in PA. We had a lot of fun showing them around Hershey and acting like tourists in Lancaster. The good old 24th ward. How fun! Reminiscing with them brought back a lot of good memories... and some pretty funny ones too. Rafting in Jackson Hole, FHE's in the park, people who just wanted to get married, but couldn't - no matter how hard they tried...

I was reminded of a time while Kellie and I were dating. I was talking to another guy and he remarked how lucky I was, becuase she was the "TP." Now, I guess I'm pretty naive, but I had NO idea what he was talking about. The last time I had heard someone talking about TP was in middle school referring to the toilet paper they had thrown over someone's house. So I had him explain. TP was the "TOTAL PACKAGE". I then expected him to tell me that "she was the TP" because of how hot she is and how funny and so on. Nope. He told me, "you know... she has such an awesome car and a great job!" I think I tried to contain my laughter... he was totally serious.
Now just five years later, that nice little sports car has turned into a Ford station wagon and the great job... well, I can't complain, seeing how I don't have a job at the moment! ;)
But yes, she's still quite the TP!

It was a funny story, but also very sweet of you. :) I have never heard of that term either. Obviously that kid has some different priorities.

Great post Steve! We had such a fun weekend with you guys! I love the TP comment. That's a good one. Everyone in Erie loved our pictures of Hershey and Lancaster. Thanks for playing host. Hopefully it can work out for you guys to make it up this way sometime. Take care!
